i think the cop had every right to shoot, the other officer was defenseless putting his tazer gun away, and the other cop didnt want to release to dog because he the guy had a big ass weapon.

the guy was a damn superhuman on pcp, a fuckin tazer to the face and he just pulls them right out.

i think the cop did the right thing.

I can't watch this in work but I noticed with the other thread a tendency for pro right to bare arms supporters to use a very specific example as a reason why the right should remain a right.

I'm not a fan of having legislation framed by specific incidents, it can be ok for someone to use a gun in certain circumstances without gun ownership being ok, same with the police, it's obviously fine for an armed police office to use his gun in certain circumstances it doesn't mean I want or support an armed police force

Seriously though, I do think the officer was actually in the right this time. One second more and the other cop would have had a sledgehammer (?) to the face.

if the cops knew the guy was on PCP and he was gona batter the other cop then yeh sure, i suppose shooting him was the only thing guy could have done... except use the dog which was there i spose

not sure if I wan't to argue about the use of a gun, but the cop did shoot in two time.

the second amount of bullets was fired while the guy had gone down allready.
to use a gun properly, should one not be able to calculate within two frames of a second if what's been fired is enough allready?
the guy may not have died during a trip if he would have let's say gotten one bullet that would "simply" have laid him on the ground.

I think the officer used hugely excessive force. The guy falls down after the first/second shot. What was the need for the other 8? Just a power trip for the cop i think. And yeah, in england i would imagine several officers with their batons beating him down to the ground at least... But no deaths...

too trigger happy, it was like he was just making sure he killed the guy, not just protecting his co-worker
