You are looking for specs, not OS's. Mac and Windows is a matter of preference.

Re: PC or Mac?
Don't waste your money on something as a Mac, if you don't have a really good reason!
I'm a mac user and I love it... But I don't think it's really worth the money, if you aren't gonna use it to its full atention.
But ya, if you have enough money... GO BUY THE MAC.. It's a lot smoother than windows and it just works!

Re: PC or Mac?
Just what we needed, another mac vs pc thread. Its been a few days after all.
Re: PC or Mac?
either way, bill gates and whoever now runs apple will still be having sex on a large pile of your money so it really doesnt matter
Re: PC or Mac?
tbh if for DJing i'd definitely not buy a mac
I only went mac for running really serious shit all at the same time i.e. lots of AU plugins, synths, etc
you don't need the thing to multitask much if just running serato, its not as though you're gonna be designing graphics or something at the same time you're mixing

Re: PC or Mac?
If it's mainly for serato just get something cheap. Serato can practically run on a gameboy, so you aren't going to need crazy specs.

who says he's looking for purely specs?Hircine wrote:You are looking for specs, not OS's. Mac and Windows is a matter of preference.
i vote mac if you have the dough to get one, if not just get a pc.
Re: PC or Mac?
Doesn't really make a difference, I find using mac and windows almost the same experience. Macs look better for the whole artist image thing thoughEat Bass wrote:who says he's looking for purely specs?Hircine wrote:You are looking for specs, not OS's. Mac and Windows is a matter of preference.

Re: PC or Mac?
if you are a fairly able at maintaining your hardware and os then buy a pc you save money and already have more options on vst plugins and such. If you cant be bothered with some quirks and glitches you`d have on windows and are a super talented producer who`s parents are investing a substantial sum of money on then i`d say go for a mac.

you get the same experience from windows and mac? i certainly don't.Hircine wrote:Doesn't really make a difference, I find using mac and windows almost the same experience. Yeah I think like if you DJ with a PC you definitely won't get laid after, you need a Mac for the look really, once them gyaldem see the lit up apple they will be all over you. You will also mix better, and the sound will be of a much superior quality, the sub will be so much more powerful out of a Mac.

Re: PC or Mac?
im not trying to force mac on anyone. i was just focusing on hircines statements that seem to claim that software makes no difference. i think it makes all the difference.
but op if your getting a laptop id def say go macbook for the build quality as well
but if your getting a desktop its a toss up. what you should do is build a hackintosh
, thats what i want to do.
