Automation Techniques for mid range basslines

Hi all,
Not so much a question but more of a discussion. I wanted to get an idea on different techniques people use with there effect automations (i.e. combining filters / phasers and automating them to work together to achieve a lot of movement).
The most common thing I have been doing is having a Phasers dry wet @ 100% and automating the frequency and q values while also having an EQ sweep or providing subtle gains in the mids. Usually i'll resample and repeat and just change the phasers freqs a little. If using Saw waves or something like Modern Talking this gives you a real middy koan sound like bass
Specifically I am hoping to get some new ideas to achieve those mid sounding koan sound / kill the noise bass lines but please post whatever techniques you are using, love to get some more ideas and inspiration
.
Thanks,
Ben
