Sounds like a pretty standard tom roll with a snare on the first hit. You can probably sample something similar from a rock song or make the pattern yourself with some tom drum samples. I actually have a pack somewhere with some sweet fills sampled from metal tracks, i may have even got it from somewhere on here but if i find it i'll re upload it and post the link.

The fills are awesome but none of us can use them cause they are literally sampled from commercial tracks, right?

sampling is a (big) part of EDM, deal with it ;)

for more information, search for "Making of Prodigy" in youtube. many of those samples are uncredited.

Yeah I've seen that it's pretty cool. Question is tho, how the fuck did Prodigy get away with it?

No idea, BUT, they trashed the samples completly that they are almost unrecognizable (imagine this in a court). They made this in a pretty creative way making classics out of completly random and unrelated samples. If I was the artist who got sampled... I would be proud of being part of such art :D

Also, Daft Punk made hits like this but with MUCH less creativity.

In conclusion: if you do it, make sure you are creative enough and trash the hell out of the samples so that you're making something NEW and not just STEALING.

EDIT: I said they, but I meant Liam Howlett of course...
