Preditah - Circles EP Review

After the successful release of the ‘Eightsome EP’ last year, the Midlands based producer Preditah is back with his first release for 2012. The ‘Circles EP’, released on Logan Sama’s Earth 616 label, is a true representation of the talent Preditah holds and contains four different instrumentals that each carry a different mood behind them.

Although to some it may seem like Preditah popped up out of now where, he has in fact been a respected producer in his home town of Birmingham for a while now, where he spent time developing his own unique sound. However his first release that gained him major recognition from the scene was his ‘Solitaire EP’, released on the StayFresh label, that dropped back in April last year. After that he become one of the most sought after producers in the scene, making it almost impossible to listen to a set without one of his instrumentals getting played. One DJ who took particular interest in his instrumentals was Logan Sama which then lead on to Preditah’s next release the ‘Eightsome EP’ being released on the Kiss FM DJ’s label, which includes beats used by both Manga and Discarda for their most recent singles.

Fast forward to now and Preditah has released what is possibly his best EP so far, containing the massive title track ‘Circles’, which can only be described as a Grime instrumental that suffers from bipolar, switching from light and bubbly to straight up greeze. On top of this there’s also the tracks ‘Air Waves’ and ‘Overdose’, as well as the VIP versions of ‘Gargoyle’ and ‘Woah’.

All that melts away when the lights are down and the bass is up.
