Ableton Midi Clip Question

Post by RumbleDiddy » Thu Feb 09, 2012 7:17 pm

Hey Iv got a question with a most likely simple answer. In Ableton live I always set my global tempo to 140 bpm then when putting some midi down the midi clip will always be in 140 tempo which is fine and how it should be. The only problem is ill write down my bass line or drums or what ever then save the project. But every time come back to it the global is the same but the midi always goes back to default 120 and when I put it back to 140 everything is spread out and have to re write it. Is there a way where I can make it stay at 140 for when I come back to it. Iv been just dealing with it for a while but now its starting to piss me off. I know its probably something simple but any info would be appreciated.
Thank-

What is the current legality of your copy of Ableton? :6:
Never come across that issue before, what version are you on?

if your working in arrange, after making the midi clip how you want, copy it, and paste it in the session view for that instrument, hopefully if the problem happens again you just copy it from the session view clip slot and paste it in your arrangement, i use the session view for like midi/audio clips storage, its really handy.

Its because that tempo is what ableton defaults. Its playing back at 140 BPM like your global settings state, I get the same thing but when you bounce to audio everything matches up to 140. I think they do it because 120 is 2 beats per second so they figure its easier to look at.
