so i have a bit of spare cash. my upgrade eligibility for my phone is on march 18 and i plan to get the iphone. i could save my cash and get the iphone then, or i could wait till the iphone 5 comes out either this summer or october. if i do that maybe i can buy a new plugin or something

any suggestions? got 100 or so to play with. anyone try sausage fattener or is it a waste of money? also I'm looking at sugarbytes effectrix.

hardware - pretty solid in this department, i don't need much else i don't think, besides maybe some treatment but that will come.
- loaded 15" macbook pro quad core ssd etc etc
- saffire 6 interface
- fostex pm1 mk2's
- akai mpk25
- ultrasone pro 900s
- studio rta desk

software
- logic pro 9
- reason 6
- zebra2
- audio damage kombinat
- wow filter

Just my feedback I have a friend who upgraded from the iPhone 4 to the 4s and he says it's not worth it, the only part that's different is that talking thing, Sirrie or whatever.

that and it has a way faster processor and a few other things. but i dont have an iphone 4. i have an android.

eh i dont really. there okay but idk everything apple just seems to work more flawlessly. not trying to be a fanboy but thats just what i find. either way were getting off topic. im looking for plugin suggestions and/or someone to tell me nooo get the iphone march 18th

Haha alright we'll have to agree to disagree. What about an interface, like something from Saffire? Once I know where I'm going to school next year (so that I know what situation I'll be in), a Saffire interface is the first thing I'm going out to buy, so that I can plug my guitar into my Mac and also get some monitors.

Or get some extra VSTs like Massive or Absynth or Omnisphere, etc

forgot to mention, i already have a saffire 6

as far as plugins go, not really looking for new synths. i already have zebra2, logics synths - es2 and sculpture and reasons synths. i dont think i want any more variety than that, besides maybe fm8.

Hmmm so if you already have upgraded your mac's hard drive and RAM to the fullest then check out the PSP vintage warmer, I found it through the Kryptic Minds masterclass and I really like it.

yeah i have 1 128gb ssd, and 1 640gb 7200 rpm hd. so 2 hdds in my mbp . also 8gb of ram.

and yeah i heard vintage warmer was dope! ill have to check out the price.

sausage fattener is dope, it really does a good job of making drums sound huge. worth the $$$

hm, got an iPhone 4, my dad got a 4s however. While Siri, and the double processing power, is reallllllyyyy nice. But not worth another $200 to me, just my personal opinion.

Use your money to add something your setup is currently lacking - if you have 2-3 synths, do you really need another? I would spring for a field recorder, or something that helps me do something I can't already do with the tools I have.

Save your money.

Invest in your education, in your art and in helping others.

its 100 more not 200. the 16gb 4 is 99 and the 16gb 4s is 199.

I'm reading a book about music from a psychological standpoint right now, called Musicophilia: Music and the Brain by Oliver Sacks.

It's really good/interesting, I'd recommend it.
