I think this is my best production yet
Would love some feedback! I think I'm going to change a few little things. the siren type sound seems a bit soft, among other things. The mix needs a bit of work, but not sure where. Thanks ahead of time!

Like the ideas you've got going on. The intro is a bit too quiet to me, I feel like it would get fully lost on most systems (likes cars and such). Along the same lines, I always find a bit of mid boosting in the master helps my mixes translates to those same unkind systems (cars and stereos). Keep it up!

Pretty pedestrian beat, your snare is weak as fuck and sounds paper thin. Mid range wobbles are fairly standard, nothing particularly outstanding about them or the overall arrangement.
Mixdown isn't bad, nothing seems to be overpowering in the mix.

I think wub was getting at the snare not having much snap to it. It just doesn't really have a bite to it. Maybe try something like SPL Transient Designer (Or SPL Attacker) or Cytomic Glue on it to make it have a more powerful impact and effect in general.

Know any mac compatible freeware that can achieve similar results?

Sorry, can't name anything freeware off hand that would easily achieve the same results. What host are you using? Your host might have some presets in their EQs and compressors that can help.

Nice, so go to your Ableton effects, and under Audio effects -> Audio Effects Racks -> Drum Processing, you should see a bunch, including some snare ones (Snare punch, fat, etc). I haven't used them extensively so I can't vouch for them, but they'll point in the right direction if nothing else.
