‘Alpha Steppa Meets JahYu’ is the the latest EP from Steppas, bringing together the very best of East and West roots and dubstep. Produced in Korea, the record features heavy bass working seamlessly with traditional instruments. Oriental flute and string melodies slide effortlessly amongst some powerful roots-based dubstep, creating a sound that is unique and full of flavour. German/ Korean producer JahYu has been heavily influenced by major UK dub artists such as Iration Steppas, Jah Shaka, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry and of course Alpha & Omega, which makes this collaboration a perfect fit. Check out ‘Wangbi’ and its Alpha Steppa remix to see how well these opposing cultures complement each other.
