Time for a poll.

there's just no need. It's not pleasant listening to music that loud in such a small space. The majority of people blaring out insanely loud music have their windows down. That sums it up. (imo)

There are far too many idiots listening to far too much shit on sound systems that sound like someone dragging an empty wheelie bin around in a shipping container as their resprayed and hacked up panels shake loose.

2x1000 watt amps and 2 15" subs in the boot, two halford special 6x9's dancing on the parcel shelf.

My mate had an audi s4 last year with a full bose car system though, It sounded sick as assholes and the best thing is you could barely hear it coming.

my mates has two of these

one under passenger, one under driver.

Just the right mix of sub if you ask me, sounds sick and no boomy vibrating car.

I grew up on the outskirts of Weston Super Mare, ALL my cars had systems! My last car had the best HiFi/speakers/sub I've ever owned - when I got a new album or mix I'd find an excuse to go for a long drive!

I miss my car. :(

I drive an A4 and the sound is supreme.

I've had loads of shit cars, with shit systems, and they've all sounded like utter shit.

ive had a shitty chevy cavalier with blown out speakers for around 2 years, recently i moved up to another used car, but about 10 years newer and with the optional sound system (sub, tweeters etc...)

I love it, used to have to fiddle with the fade front/rear and bass treble knobs until i could get the crackle out, but now i just boom bass like a dickhead

i think it's just 2 years of car audio frustration breaking loose to be honest though, ill probably grow tired of it

Subs in cars are a bit chavy, yes. Should you care? No.
Unless you start playing donk, hardcore, trance, jump-up dnb, brostep, chart music or other shite in your car. Then you should care.
Especially when you drive around with your windows open; in which case you might want to consider to remove yourself from the gene pool.

Saloon's just always have that nice balance, not like old VW speakers with about as much bottom end as......well. none

Another friend had a 6/7 year old astra, I know I know but the speakers were actually slamming. Just standard, but such a punchy lower mid and enough bottom end to be heavy as you like without spending a load on extras

Doesn't have to loud though, just a nice amount of bass.

It's not chavy at all unless you're a chav. Sheeeeeeeeit, my mates mum has a sub in her merc and she's a 50y/o professional. She just likes a bass line the same as the rest of us!

I'd definitely put a nice system in my car if I had a nice car.

The issue is when people do it who have no idea what they're doing and go way overboard with sub so it sounds shit and gives you that Kev car head ache.

Funny also I was once in someone's car that had he'd gone overboard with the soundsystem in but he only listened to trance on. We put on some old dubstep mix and immediately the car was swamped with too much bass.

How can you not love a car with a good system?

Yeah I personally like it, it's great for listening to music on a normal level with a bit of extra kick and mad fun to crank it sometimes and let the boot rattle. Not chavy unless you play proper chavy music and combine it with neon lights and a spoiler
