iirc zelda remixes are only patented for filthy remixes, so your only option is to make a filthy dub remix, I hope that's ok.

i wouldn't mess with zelda b/c nintendo is real protectiv of ther songs
i kno this guy did a pokemon dubstep remix & put it on youtub, the nintendo guys found his address and kept sending him letters to tke it down
they even had guys call his house
idk if it wasnt filthy enough, so they didnt like it, or they do that to everyone

You can't modify or distribute copyrighted propriety, even if you won't profit from it, you still can use the material to self promote yourself over someone's else propriety. By default, any original creation by anyone is automaticly their intelectual propriety. Creative Commons licenses are a bit different though. My two cents as a law school student and a roman civilist? Do it anyway, unless you are kinda of a big shot, chances are nintendo won't give a fuck / nintendo won't notice you, just don't charge for it.

if you don't know the simple difference between bootlegs and a remix, you shouldn't be producing
