Hey i'm looking to start getting into djing, i'd love to buy some cdjs but with being a student i've got other things to save for so i'm looking for a decent midi controller just for starting out. Could anyone help me out and say which are the best value for money? I've been looking at some numark ones like the mixtrack pro but does anyone know of any other ones for around the same price?
Thanks

Native Instruments have a promo going on until March 31, the Traktor Kontrol S2 is 399€/$499 instead of 200€ more, you might be interested. I think they're selling out fast though, all shops where I live were out of stock and I had to get it online. That's a bit more than the Mixtrack Pro but I think it's worth it, especially as it includes a Traktor license..

Friend of mine tried the s2 and he didn't like it all, he went with an old a&h controller. Maybe that's an option.
I don't deal with controllers so I have no idea myself.

I have a mixtrack pro, decent if you're a student like me.. me and a mate usually mix and pre-drink for like 4 hours before going out which is good fun. He got his October and then I got my own for Christmas. I'm now planning to get a pair of 1210s in May and hes looking at trying to find finance for CDJs.
Be warned, you will want to upgrade to something better very quickly if you get a mixtrack pro. However i'll be keeping my technics at home and taking my mixtrack pro to uni with me, so it does the job.

i bought a mixtrack pro to use at uni because i couldn't take my decks with me but i can't get used to it....they're good fun to use but its no replacement for cdj's or my decks. I am gonna sell it at a reduced rateif you are interested or want to make an offer, but its at uni at the moment and i dont go back untill the 15th april now.
The only other controller i had experience with was a friends controller but i cant remember for the life of me what it was, he said it cost twice as much as what i paid for my numark one but they only main positive difference was that it felt a lot more sturdy and well built...didnt have an internal soundcard though

Hmm instead of the mixtrack pro I might go for some budget vinyl decks instead

Denon MC6000 is absolutely fantastic, I have it myself.
