How should electronic music be judged?

Just curious what people listen for when they hear a new dubstep tune or any electronic music for that matter. For me, its really whether or not I can move to it or feel it. But I pay a lot of attention to drums, production value, and creativity. What does the dubstep community think?

i don't judge it, but what makes me enjoy a tune?
vibes for sure, whatever types of vibes they may be
production value is lowest priority tbh, a like a lot of stuff raw and unpolished at times

If it's for the dance floor, I find it easier to judge. Like would I really listen to Dismantle - Computation while relaxing with a biff? No. But give me a pint of vodka and I swear I will go crazy!

Yeah haha had a bad showing at the skream and benga show last week. Pretty sure Pokes now thinks im a wasteman... But artwork was dishing out the Grey Goose to everyone that hopped up on stage, so he's partly to blame!

This thread title may have been a bit misleading...we all decide whether we like songs or not regardless of genre...I am just curious to how we decide we like songs or not. Whether consciously or not, we all base our judgement on a certain list of criteria. So for future replies, analyze what goes through your thoughts when you decide you like a song or not.

Some people out there that are creating some amazing tunes whilst everybody else stresses over every single minute detail.

Production quality is what can make the difference between a "fuck that's powerful" sub, and a flabby sub.
A sub with presence, power, and pressure can make a track.
But yeah, I get your point about workflow stifling musical creativity

Oh yeah, I'm not saying I'll like poorly produced tracks, but when it takes over completely, then it loses something man.

if it sounds good to me
if it has a comprehensive musical statement
call and response
tension and resolve
production value (most certainly is NOT last on my list -- have you heard the fucking beats some of these jerkoffs publish?)
progression/arrangement that makes sense, offers a proper presentation of the compositional information
dubstep specific:
space, pace, and bass
dread vibes
skanks
love wobbles
is anyone even really into dubstep anymore? i fucking love that shit but damn, i'm starting to fear that its truly over

whether you like it or not? not convinced that music needs to be judged at all, if you personally enjoy it then i'd say subjectively that's good enough, couldn't really put my finger on exactly what i look for in music but i certainly know it when i hear it

In all seriousness makig a track sound like pretty means absolutely nothing to me. Like sound design and shit. That just my opinion tho. I like it raw
