well i basically mean future garage but since that term can make people gringe i'll just say 'garage'. nothing wrong with old school 2-step but i'm not talking bout that right now.
since i first got into bass music i soon found wonky and garage which were pretty big in the scene in 2010. haven't heard much wonky tunes being produced after that but solid swingy garridge grooves are still coming out on a regular basis just can't get enough of it, i mean i do like standard dubstep, all that dungeon stuff and everything but it's the floaty, organy synths, chopped and pitched vocal snippets and the deadly groovy drums that make it really something else. it sounds so elegant, almost has a royal feel to it. every time i hear it on the radio i just stop and listen, really concentrate on the track rather than just let it pass in and out of my ears. i'd love to play it out but people don't like to hear it in the club, they rather have plain old dubstep tracks. couple of choice tunes to close it off:

Much respect for not using the term "future garage", the music I make get's labelled as that and it frustrates me so much, I understand everyone needs a name for stuff to find more of it, if you know what I mean. I dunno it's just calling something the future is a bit much. Garage/2-step does fine. But i know the vibes you're looking at, heres my percies.
It's ashame this style of music seemed to be a sort of 2009-early 2011 thing... It was the alternative of the shit dubstep was pumping out, seems everyones hooked on the more house/techno affiliated stuff now!

Yeah its weird, this stuff is kind of nostalgic now haha, this was the sound I got into at this time and now its just seems to have died out, there is some stuff but most of it is people deliberately trying to make this stuff and it sounds shit. Wish Joy Orb would go back to making some of this gear, or atleast release the dubs he has got!

it certainly has died out a bit. i'm kind of disappointed that joy o decided to go full on house / techno vibe and quite quickly abandoned the garage train.. i guess he's just constantly pushing the envelope

it's still going. few off the top of my head
this is straight up garage really but came out the other week
whilst i love all of those, personally i think if you want to listen to garage then why does it have to be new and fresh? music doesn't stop being good because it's old

Yeah like, I like techno and house, but for Joy O I think I prefer the sound he had when he first came about more.

Haha this is like a garage revival thread! I'd love to learn more about the older, darker stuff. The only garage I've really heard is El-B, and I love that sort of music.
