just wanted to know what everyones veiw was about d&b producers comming to the dubstep scene??
i know JUJU has been doing dubstep for a while and he smacks it
but what do u think about others comming??

Depends on what they are bringing.
I've heard some good ones and some are just shite.

I haven't found a dnb producer who makes good dubstep tunes yet. Must say that I was drawn to Juju and Tech Itch when i first started shopping for dubstep, but neither of those really got me going. Who else is doing it?

I think breakage is making dubstep tunes, which if true i eagerly await to hear.

Depends on the producer really. D bridge, Amit etc would be welcome as far as my tastes go. On the other hand theres some jumpup dnb style producers who should stay well away.

I'm sure Calibre could make tasty dubstep.

To be honest, though, I reckon let dnb be dnb (which is mostly shit) and dubstep be dubstep (which is mostly pretty good).

Martyn is running tings on this front. Expected him to make sick dubstep and hes delivered, love his dnb. Breakage will fucking smack it aswell, guaranteed.

good music is good music.....i can't really see how this is an issue?

i have talked to a lot of dnb guys who are diggin' dubstep because they enjoy something fresh, or perhaps to diversify the music they make. i don't take issue with it at all.

it's always good to vary up what you are doing. i come from techno, and i have found dubstep is having an extremely good effect on my production. i stopped thinking in terms of what i have to write, and just started writing...whatever it turns into, i am ok with.

i think it's injected some freshness into the minds of people coming from MANY genres. plus it's good music, and it's fun, and i say the more influences in it the better. the variety and diversity of dubstep right now is what i love about it.

that's my .03 cents.

Juju not far behind with Punks.
Skynets tunes have been good.
I liked Twisted Individuals ones.

Doesn't make much difference to me. Quality tunes are quality tunes, no matter the background of the producer. Dubstep is still a fairly young genre, so of course most of the older heads in the scene will have come from another scene (d&b/garage/grimee/techno/etc.). Out here on the west coast, we've got guys like Juju, 6Blocc, and Roommate who all came out of d&b and are making some dope tunes.

The only thing I don't want to see from d&b is the proliferation of 'micro'-genre dj's and producers, which really killed a lot of my enthusiasm for d&b years ago. Keeping all the diversity of dubstep styles under one roof is key.

and of course a lot of other stuff coming from former d&b heads (actually even some of the "originators" had jungle besides garage as another influence, didn't they...?)

as long as it hasn't got this exchangable tech-vibe with the ultra-fat layered sounds etc it's cool
