Deadline for sending in the application for the Red Bull Music Academy was today. Did anyone else on here go for it? Took me waaaay longer than I had originally anticipated.
I know that was only a joke... But come on. Next year for me too.vertex wrote:Bah, a little late to sort it out now. Still there's always next year, if the world doesn't end that is

what are the qualifications for getting in, exactly? how do they assess you?kultron wrote:Judging by some of the people I follow on twitter who are applying (Dubbel Dutch, Mele) who are next-level it really kills your motivation to want to apply. That said, i didn't apply, didn't really feel I had a chance, not enough time I felt to perfect anything. I know if you don't apply you have a 0% chance of getting in, but how to get yourself up there? Any one else feel the same way?
Yeah like, I wouldnt really say it is for up and coming producers really, like obviously some of the BIG guys get the chance to lecture there, but if you watch the addison groove one, Om Unit is in taking part and then AG mentions one bit about playing one of OU's tune to him, so like the lecture and participant know each other, and I wouldnt call Om Unit and up and comer. Like alot of guys I listen to took part last year, so you do kind of think how do you have a chance at getting in, when people you admire are getting chosen. There arent any qualifications to get in, ANYONE can get in (they say). I think its like if your work is impressive, innovative, different, interesting, not necessarily good quality, then you have a chance. The massive application form is also a way for them to asses your personality, obviously they want people who would be suited to do it, if you are some shy guy (or gyal) who dont say anything, doesnt interact with people, or just wants to make tracks to get famous or pussy, then they will probably tell that from the application and you wont get chosen. I think they also want a mixture of personalites (not including who I just mentioned haha), and people who do different things, so everyone there can mix with different people, and learn of each other, and gain something. No point getting 60 Dubstep producers in, who make the same shit, and have the same kind of views etc, cos then no one will get any benefit out of it.Sonika wrote:what are the qualifications for getting in, exactly? how do they assess you?kultron wrote:Judging by some of the people I follow on twitter who are applying (Dubbel Dutch, Mele) who are next-level it really kills your motivation to want to apply.
