So I'm pretty set on upgrading to a Lite account on SC, mainly for the stats and groups options.
Just wanted to know if anyone on here has a pewmium account and would recommend it or advise against it.
Cheers

I have the light(29$ Version), its definitely worth it if you are using your soundcloud regularly.

Right now I have the special offer for Ableton users, and I haven't used the new features yet. Before the free offer, I wanted to upgrade because of the stats and the sharing options. I'd like to see who favorites and downloads my tracks.

I just have the free account at the moment, i don't see any point in upgrading yet. I plan to upgrade when i'm running out of space. Either that or i'll delete all of my crappy old tunes, as hopefully i'll be making better stuff in the future.

I gonna get a better account sooner or later.Something i read the other day was if you get a paid for account you can update tracks so you don't need to delete when updating mixes,wips...etc
Also it will be good to get the better stats,be a bummer if you were to find you were the mainly the only person listening to your tunes.

The whole update thing seems great yeah, I constantly have to delete and reupload my tracks - pains me a bit because I lose the few comments and favourites I get.
I really want the stats thing too lol, I'm finally getting around 100+ listens per track - fucking small to most people but it's a lot to me, and the only thing know about my listeners is their mostly American
Haha I also just noticed I got 5 listens from the Phillipines in the last 3 days, so random

Yeah i hear you,it is a pain to the small people like us lol
It's a positive feeling thinking your building a bit of a fan base even if it is only 10 people
I think a lot of it with soundcloud is just networking, but saying that i am yet to work out how the fuck to go about this
I never post finished mixes,it is always as soon as the first bounce is done it is up so the updating tracks thing would be great for me.
Saying that i just posted my latest tune which i have worked pretty hard on getting the mix sounding proper, got some fella whi i have been following for a while commented and said i need to do a mixdown on it because of clashing elements and whatnot
Suppose can't please every listener but at least he commented.

Brings me to another good point - groups, I think I may get quite a few plays/comments from submitting to groups and atm I can only submit to one. If I could submit a track to loads with a Lite account....
Also yeah, I have like one finished track up, all the others are WIPs I'm working on and updating...

soundcloud would be nearly perfect without the spammers
if there would be an option in the lite version
i would really consider it

Yeah i agree, the 1 track per group is crap.I am in about 7 now with different tracks.I can't remember what artist it was but they are in like 300 groups or something so it just opens up a lot more options for getting your tracks heard.

Yup, it annoys me quite a lot when someone's like "GREAT TRACK, REALLY COOL MAN. NOW CHECK MY STUFF OUT", and you go to their profile and see they've said the
exact same thing to 10000 other people in the last day.

Saying that,i just found out if you go to the track edit option and set your track to private it gives you an option of choosing people who can still listen to it.If you select everyone you are following they receive the track in their dropbox. Also they get an email to say you have shared it with them.In my opinion a great feature of the free account but could this be seen as spamming?

I often wondered how people did that, more often than not though I take no notice.

no private is fine i guess but its more like the other way round i am scared to title my genre dubstep because i know i will get atleast one spammer and yeah i hate the personal one atleast have the guts to admit that you suck big time
i guess the only way to get rid of them is killing them before they lay eggs

See that could be where you are going wrong,i read a soundcloud networking blog months ago that said nobody likes a shit neighbour.
You should post comments but not just "yeah bluuud","sicker than my dying granny" or "thats fat bluuud braaaapppppp" the comments should try and be constructive like commenting on the mix or elements you like that you feel drive the track blahblahblahblah
Also being greatfull when people post on yours and actually listening and favouriting tracks too, apparently the more you do it the more people will feel you are an active user who is participating in what souncloud is meant to be about.
In all honesty what i just posted above i tried and it sort of does and doesn't work,i gained a few more followers and a few more comments but that was it.I think you need to be on it constantly but you gotta think when will you get the time between making tunes coming on here to waffle shit, work and balance a family life and then go on soundcloud to massage the ego of some producer you probably don't even like just to maybe get a comment back or even a follower. To me fuck it it takes off it takes off time is a precious thing i lack.
