Audio Interface and Computer

Hey guys, I'm in the middle of creating a new Abelton set up in my studio. I'd really like some opinions...
I currently have a PT HD set up but I need a more creative daw to work on several of my clients project--no disrespect to PT user. I absolutely love Abelton and own it. Unfortunately the tower I'm using is too slow...so a new computer is my first purchase. Secondly I want a very good audio interface. After that I should be okay considering everything else I have in my studio. I'm waiting to buy the new 27" iMac coming out next month, and I'd also like to purchase the new Lynx Hilo interface.
Question 1- Will a full blown new Ivy bridge iMac with 32gb of ram be able to run plenty of plug ins and soft synths?
Question 2- What are your thoughts about the Lynx Hilo as an audio interface with this set up using Abelton? I see that the sound quality is incredible but I also see that it's USB...would that cause any latency issues? I don't need anymore ins/outs so it looks great. What are your thoughts? Any other suggestions? I feel this is a good start but it would be nice to have some input...thanks!
