Why are Reason .RNS files so big?

So I was doing a collaboration, with my friend on the internet. He sends me .rns file that contains 4 different guitar midis with NNXT, and redrum. The file is 155kb, and easily was sent through facebook. Yet when I make a .rns file it ususally goes up to 1 gig or 2, which requires me to use mediafire which is time consuming.

So I decided to do some tests. I tried to trim all my audio. I try to use less fx. I try to bounce stuff to audio / keep stuff as midi. Change it from 44k - 22k in resolution. Nothing changed, it was still 1 gig. So I decided to just have a complete empty rack with nothing on it at all. I saved it and it 43.5 mb? What is taking up all this space? How is my friend able to send a song to me at 155kb, he is not compressing or anything. He sends me the raw .rns file. Even he doesn't understand why.

I never really notice this until this incident, because I never usually collaborate.

What the hell is going on here? :corncry: :u:

It's probably due to self contained samples. All imported sound remain within .rns files, even if deleted from the sampler or audio track. Hit F8 to bring up the tool window. Under the audio tab you'll find all the self contained samples, delete the ones your project does not use/need, the unassigned ones.
