Novation X-Station 25 MIDI Controller

I'm looking into getting a new midi controller. Mostly for use in Ableton with operator and what not, but also for my mini moog soft synth. Has anyone used this controller with Ableton? I already have a korg micro konrtol but I'm having trouble assigning keys and such. Is this piece an upgrade from my current controller? If so, in what fashion?

Thanks in advance.

Why go for the X-station when you can get the XIOSYNTH 25 for less which is a wicked sounding little synth- also if you don't need the audio interface get a Remote Sl 25 which is a superior controller to the x-station

I love my x-station but wish those Novation fux would offer automapping for it.

Interesting. No automapping? I wonder why that is...

I have an X-station and I love it

but if you are on a budget the xiosynth has the exact same synth engine

soundcard / synth / controller

completely badass

I just had the that new novation xiosyth thing in my studio for the past 2 weeks... Very fun.. Lots of great sounds and fits quite nicelly in a small studio space. I still go to my Micro Korg and Triton for most sounds though..

How did it go hooked up to FL? I'm a FL user and im looking at a controller to link up with it, still not sure which controller is going to give me the least hassle

I notice its USB, sorry im a complete noob when it comes to controllers as i've never set one up...

I've bought a audiophile soundcard with a midi input thinking that was what i need for a controller. Does the remote sl 25 not require or rely on a soundcard? does it have its own soundcard built in? is there latency issues with USB inputs?

Sorry for all the questions, just not very clued up on how to hook one of these bad boys up which i desperately want :)

no worries dood

it is a USB controller for midi

you'll still need a sound card. and as for latency issues, every system is different.

you can always lower your buffer size to decrease the latency, but its all relative to your CPU speed, and your ram.

Ahh cheers man, i had a squizz at the site and i notice that there is no auto-mapping support for FL which is a bit disheartening, but im sure i could manually assign some things and just use the plug-in automapping for my vst's...

I have a pretty new pc with 2gig ram and core duo processor so hopefully latency wont be a problem..

cheers for the help matey
