Krewella bass help?

I am trying to make something that sounds like this bass
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-GzgNjQm66c#t=0m45s but i cant seem to get close, i was wondering if its maybe a really heavily processed guitar maybe? anyone know at all how this kind of sound is made? as i would really like to use this kinda sound in a track

Haven't listened but if your guess is that's it's a guitar try starting with a Reese and going from there

I dont think it is, but that's what i thought was a very slight possibility, as i couldnt replicate the sound at all lol

I think there's some pitchbend going on in there, makes me think its unlikely to be a guitar.

sounds layered, i think the fact that it reminds you of a guitar comes from the odd harmonics being introduced as the filter opens up. you could try cranking the resonance and distorting afterwards but im pretty sure thats a second layer, maybe comb filtered.
anyway, virtual guitar amp distortion is your friend just don't overdo it and stay away from the cabinet simulators (unless you wanna go dungeon)
