What do you mean a massive wave... like a wave table from massive? And when you say resample, do you have any advice for the FX chains I use? for example... distortion, Limiter, saturator....etc.Climax wrote:

Re: This guy is plain ridiculous....
I was just joking
after reading through the "how to make this sound thread' almost every sound was:
XYZ wave distortion, resample, experiment (useless generic information)
and 9 times out of 10 people who make a thread requesting a specific sound in a get flamed for asking
that being said, that sound is pretty ridiculous, If I had to hazard a guess id say its def not just saw or square wave, its probably a unique waveform like something in Massive.. and some points sounds formanted, maybe the original layered with something like a WOW filter or something similar. The waverform idk sounds something like M-talking or one of the Throats. and there doesnt seem to be much top end, so probably a low-bandpass or low pass filter or daft/acid if you are using massive
as for distortion, probably some saturation and something else to add some crunch, i dont hear any chorus or phasing, so I dont think those are being used
hope that helps but yea good luck it sounds fucking awesome

Thanks for the tip... yeah but every single tune this guy puts out is pure gold and usually my jaw hits the floor while listening to them.Climax wrote:I was just joking

Re: This guy is plain ridiculous....
iv made a very similar sound to this before making DnB, numbers of way u can achieve it.
distortion is a must.. how i got it was i timestretched a bass (causes aliasing but it will sound crunchy in a good way after the fx) & then distorted it a lot, low passed, and more distortion again. automate the distortion as well
EDIT: try a waveshaper in the middle of the chain as well (i use both waveshaping and distortion to make most basses, it works for achieving a lot of complex sounds) u can probably just use a few basic waveforms to start with if you dont wana timestretch any basses. also theres a tight pitch envelope at the start of his basses.

Re: This guy is plain ridiculous....
Most of that is the modern talking oscillator with some wavetable automation-> but more subtle so it doesn't actually sound like it's full on talking, a lot of effects like chorus, saturation, and then a lot of the thickness comes from the crashes and ride cymbals that are on top of it.

Re: This guy is plain ridiculous....
to me sounds like m-talk in the middle of some other wave shape. the phase is then modulated slightly out of tune, phaser on top. sub eqed and compressed separately. stereo widening.
Re: This guy is plain ridiculous....
Read the bass thread - despite people thinking it's "generically useless' - you're wrong. It's generic because it's impossible to duplicate another's sound. Best thing you can do is experiment with some guidance - and that's what that guide is for.
160 bpm roller - for all the skankas.
