Listened to a few old mixes over the weekend, it's the ones you keep coming back to that are the best. Here are mine, in no particular order...No doubt I'll think of more that I've forgotten at some point.
The Freestylers - Future Sound of the UK (1998)
Krafty Kuts - Instant Party (free with Mixmag in about 2001)
DJ Daddy Dog - Something about 'back to class' in the name. Hip hop classics mixed to perfection (gutted I lost it - anyone got a good link for old hip hop mixtapes, Ron G, etc?)
Doc Martin - Fabric CD - BEAUTIFUL HOUSE! Fabric haven't matched it since, IMO
Sasha/Digweed - Renaissance (the famous one from 91/92 - disc one in particular)
Stanton Warriors - Stanton Sessions 1
Ratpack - Tape of some rave in 1991. Started my love for dance music
Osunlade - Offering
Vikter Duplaix - DJ Kicks
Oooh, best add some dubstep before I get lynched....
N-Type's latest All-Stars....Love his quick mixing and a lot of diversity.
Those Plastician Mixes are pretty special too.
One day soon, I'll start a thread about best live DJ performance.
Over to you.......
EDIT: I can't believe I forgot DJ Spinna - Strange Games and Funky Things. Rare groove and soul mixed in a hip hop fashion.

Derrick May - Mix-up vol. 5 - The Mayday Mix (1997)
Selection, mixing, flow, tricks... this one's an allround classic!
Not sure if he pulled it off in one take with decks only, but I don't even care, it's just too good.

...and a more personal one: my Maxell XLII tape with DJ Die & MC Dynamite on dutch radio VPRO somewhere in '97, when Full Cycle was running things. I kept my walkman especially for this mix.

I have them both. If you haven't already, check Hip Hop Forever III - Jazzy Jeff. It's an amazing mix.
