What does Coca-Cola do with all the coke?

So you may know that Coca-cola has coca leaf extract in it. It used to have actual cocaine in it, but now it doesn't. These days they use "de-cocainized" coca leaves to flavour it. Which means they extract tonnes of cocaine out of the leaves every year. What happens to that? Coca-cola head office christmas party must be a hoot!
Also, they import it all from Peru. So I guess that the Coca Eradication plan was never in their interests. Or the war on drugs.

I just had a think about this and if it was my company I would sell the cock to pharmaceutical companies.
A pharmacy student once toled me thats theres cock in loads of over the counter product. Something like 1mg in every aspirin.

Coca-Cola doesn't process actual product. They use extract from decocainized leafs, it's produced legally for a wide
variety of food/drink products.
Not a fan though.

yes it would, because "cock" is a word. "coke" was the word you were after, though it may not have been perhaps.

I think it's something like 100 tons of coca leaves a year. Wiki says coca leaves are about .5% coke by weight, and let's say they're extracting at about 75% yield... that means they're producing roughly 375 kg of cocaine a year...
After googling around a bit, apparently it gets sold to a medical company called
Mallinckrodt Inc. (since cocaine does have a legitimate use as a local anesthetic). What they do with that much cocaine a year baffles me, since there's no way that much is used legitimately around the US, or even the world.

it's a hell of a lot, since it's mostly obsolete as an anesthetic, having been replaced by "better" ones. so it's rarely used, and on top of that, I can't imagine the doses used being very high either.

Pemberton called for five ounces of coca leaf per gallon of syrup, a significant dose; in 1891, Candler claimed his formula (altered extensively from Pemberton's original) contained only a tenth of this amount. Coca-Cola once contained an estimated nine milligrams of cocaine per glass. In 1903 it was removed.[28]
After 1904, instead of using fresh leaves, Coca-Cola started using "spent" leaves – the leftovers of the cocaine-extraction process with trace levels of cocaine.[29] Coca-Cola now uses a cocaine-free coca leaf extract prepared at a Stepan Company plant in Maywood, New Jersey.
In the United States, the Stepan Company is the only manufacturing plant authorized by the Federal Government to import and process the coca plant,[30] which it obtains mainly from Peru and, to a lesser extent, Bolivia. Besides producing the coca flavoring agent for Coca-Cola, the Stepan Company extracts cocaine from the coca leaves, which it sells to Mallinckrodt, a St. Louis, Missouri pharmaceutical manufacturer that is the only company in the United States licensed to purify cocaine for medicinal use.[31]
