Fracture ft Dawn Day Night - Get Busy

Post by deadly_habit » Mon Jun 11, 2012 11:07 pm

maybe I've been sleeping on new dnb a bit too much, but has there really been much footwork/jungle crossovers like this

shared it with legend4ry earlier and he was amazed with how clean the apache is
honestly it's one of those well produced, clean minimal tunes doing something innovative

what do yall think?

The apache sounds like plastic, it's good though.

Machinedrum has been doing shit like dis. Specifically with Om Unit in Dream Continuum...

i almost wanna say he took the apache midi or pattern and recreated it using clean samples of bongos and such

also picked up this vip by him which took a tech step throwback and added the footwork vibe to it
i'm def gonna explore doing this myself soon

Apache has never sounded so good in my opinion.. The usual sound of it is characterful but always dumbs down an overall mix in terms of sound quality.

I remember a lot of tunes in that vein a few years ago, though more raggamuffin type. The main difference is the 808 drum rolls. There was also Phillip D. Kick recently.

Fracture+Neptune have made some of the best breaks ever created. Always been on next level tunes.

cleaning up apache ain't that hard..a little bit of eq, envelope shaping, subtle compression.

mines just a little bit different...kick and snare has more accent, than percussion.

True, it sounds amazing like that but in that tune it has that "bit more"

Oh yeah totally. It's the best apache I've ever heard.

i think they may have used a gate or expander on the individual hits along with some envelopes
or what i suggested earlier about replacing hits with clean recorded ones and tuning them

when i saw the trailer i was like 'naaah not another marka'
cause honestly i already thought that jubei ft flowdan one was a bit of a ripoff.
but as it turns out this shit's hilarious! loving the video. tune's not really mindblowing (specially from a juke standpoint) but definetly a breath of fresh air and a step in the right direction.
thanks for sharing deadly!

oh and dont even try replicating fracture&neptune's breaks, its only gonna leave you frustrated  i heard they nailed the ni ten ichi ryu break but wont share how they did it :(

Please. Don't remind me.
I've heard a couple of others use it too... label mates though. Surely they must be initiated in the dark circle and purified with the Hermetic Pentagram Banishing ritual before they are given the information and break.
And triangles.
Triangles everywhere.

Yeah haha
A couple of years ago when twitter was newish, there was old producers doing some #drumnbassconfession thing and I swore someone mentioned some good info about it. Twitter sucks for searching real old stuff though. There was a lot of juicy info let loose including BCUK admitting sampling dnb, and a producer admitting he stole C4C's entire sample library when they stepped out for a curry or something.
