Cv is control voltage, I'm sure you can find tutorials for the basics on that

And yeah you can use Thor as a filter, flip it around route the audio in and out of Thor and in the mod matrix set filter 3 left and right in

Control voltage is mainly used for modulation.

For example, in Thor you can assign LFO 1 to CV 1 Out with a value of 100. Now the CV 1 Out on the back of the Thor is essentially the LFO and you can hook it up to whatever.

To use use Thor's filters with an external audio signal you will need to route the output of your audio signal (L & R) to Thor Audio in 1 & 2. Then in the matrix assign Audio 1 to Filter 3 Left and Audio 2 to Filter 3 Right.

For some reason it's only possible in Filter 3. Also, the default Envelope for Filter 3 is not the Filter Envelope but the Global Envelope.

Also possible with 1 and 2, but only when thor is receiving midi messages so put it in a combinator along with your other instruments. Make sure that receicing midi is enabled for both in the combinator programmer. Although these two dont have left and right inputs, they just have 1.
