A plea to all musicians/artists....

Would you please stop naming yourselves with a word capitalized and vowels removed.

It may have been cool as fuck and cutting edge back when nobody else had thought of doing it but it's overdone now. It's the artist name equivalent of using the brutal electro patch. Just cos other people are doing it doesn't mean you have to!

If your succession of capital letters is an acronym, then please do not get confused, this plea is not directed at you.

Its the ones who just drop the vowels and capitalize that are doing my nut in. It's no longer original. In fact, it's fucking annoying. Please stop it.

For the record, Hudson Mohawke & Lunices latest project TNGHT was the final straw for me. Previous offenders include :

MSTRKRFT

There will be plenty more, and many lesser known offenders, some playing out your local area i'm sure. And that's not to mention the album names, club nights, and blogs using the same tired idea.

Maybe it could be about existing and being able to be found easier within the smart phone realms. Or at least maybe that was the intention before the world started to morph. Seems painted with the same tone of social-simplifying stuper... Maybe it's just to match those fail to 'read between the lines'. Maybe it's cos footy t shirt prints cost-per-letter. Maybe they just don't like the view of Ms. Vorderman at the vowel dispensor
