its all about independent pressing here in Nottingham - they are not the cheapest but they make real nice vinyl.

yep, loads and loads of the vinyl you buy is pressed @ Independent. It's possible to find cheaper prices then theirs through pressing brokers - even if the broker uses Independent themselves!! For example try AGRM:

More or less every Mu release I've bought lately has been a bit flimsy... the pressing of the punisher remixes was especially weird.

optimum are great man, it's a good space and a well-equipped studio. Matt is keen on his dubstep and is obviously more than happy to take as much time as you need to get things sounding crisp. He did the cut for at least 1 Tectonic release (the last Moving Ninja EP), and cut the Punisher remixes too - I mentioned to him that the Skream mix isn't the greatest cut in the world, he said he had a real problem getting the mix to sound right so left it pretty flat in the end.

I agree that some of the Mu releases feel a bit flimsy but obviously that has nowt to do with who cuts it - try Independent Pressing like a lot of others do and I'm sure you won't have a problem. As I said before you might find that a broker like AGRM winds up cheaper than going direct.
