Massive Parameters + External Fx Chains

I've been having a ton of fun making patches in massive. I love the way it allows you to use envelopes and Lfo's to Mod the crap out of pretty much every parameter in seconds. What I find challenging is making my fx chains work in concert with massive's internal fx and modifiers. So let me explain what I mean in the form of a question.

Lets say I use LFO 5 to modulate both filters in massive. I'm getting a great wobble-type sound but I want to accentuate it even more. OK. So I use LFO 5 to modulate the EQ's, to modulate the wavetables, to modulate the insert effects, and so on. But then I want to take the sound even further by using third-party plugins. I can no longer use LFO 5 in any meaningful way outside of massive. Sure I can buy maxforlive for $250 and get an external LFO and modulate all of my plugin parameters but even then it will not necessarily work in concert with massives lfo because of differences in timing values. BTW, this is also the case with using the envelopes.

Use an lfo on the third party plugin but make it in time so it would be basically the same as using LFO 5... and you sure are modulating alot of shit.........

ugh. its annoying to do that because 1) i gotta get max4live and 2) sometimes the time values don't line up. so you have to automate each lfo separately.

Instead of assigning all of that to LFO's in massive assign everything to an external filter

yah. but i would need max4live for that.. no?

no can't you assign things to universal lfo's in ableton?

Try assigning all of the parameters you want to modulate in massive to one of it's macros. Then apply that macro as well as whatever other external parameters you're modulating to a macro in an instrument rack and draw in your movements in an automation lane. Or you could midi map the instrument rack macro to your mod wheel and use that. Is that sort of what you're looking for?

Or you could get yourself a copy of Cableguys curve shaper...

Also, resampling > crazy modulation.
If you can't do anything more inside Massive, bounce to audio, resample, start cutting things up, rearranging...
Saves you CPU power and the pain of setting MIDI routing up or learning the ins and outs of Max.

some plug ins have a feature thats called "envelope follower". Im pretty sure this just modulates the effect based on the the envelope that it detects. in sugar bites WOW filter this option will allow you connect the feature with the LFO or ENV in massive and add some of the unique characteristics of the filter..... other then that i guess draw that automation in
