Anybody know where to get some good sample packs for deep stuff? Rimshots, kicks, claps, bongos, shakers, etc. would be great. Free would be best because money is tight but, if I would need to spend a good amount of cash for them then so be it.

I like to download the sample competition packs and strip them of all they're samples!

Anything can be used for 'deep stuff' really, it's all about how to use them.

I use a bunch of zenhiser packs; techno, psytrance, dubstep, fx ( all drum one-shots, I delete the loops) also I found some guy who sampled about 40 different cymbals, all real high-quality recordings, about 1000 one-hits all free. The psytrance zenhiser pack has a bunch of ethnic drums (bongos, congas, etc.) but I also found free packs online. I just started using samples for latest song and it really helped. By the way, only sample drums and effects like sweeps, you should not sample instruments because they are meant for one specific tempo. Above sample packs can be heard in soundcloud below...

Try finding samples or sample packs of Roland Drum Machines like 909, 808 or 606 samples.

These usual layer well together and layer well with other samples.

don't do that, unless you are live performing with one or want to start a collection, it's a waste of good money. An out-of-the-box 808 kick won't sound as good as something that went through tape, tube compressors, carefully eqing et coetera.

True but I was gonna buy to have fun with it. I love playing with hardware on my own time to have fun. But true statement for production It would better to not buy one for that.

pretty sure deadly habit runs a sample coop, some of my best samples for deep stuff were copped there, the best way to get good samples for deep stuff that haven't been used and aren't stale sounding, is always going to be to record them yourself, with percussion being the driving force in deep tunes it's always going to be good to make your own samples.

A true 808 sounds amazing man. But to justify the pricetag... I guess I see your point. Still, they sound insane when you start tweaking them live.
