hey guys,
thought it would be interesting to see how these beats are taken.
i am posting 320 links to my first 2 'dubstep' beats that i made last summer, they went under the name 'Kid Kip', prior to that i was making hip-hop beats under the name Kill Kip (http://www.myspace.com/killkip), after J Dilla died, i couldn't really progress with hip-hop as i felt it didn't really exist to me anymore, i started turning into grime but couldn't really make them (dunno why) Optimum got me into dubstep, i listened to midnight request line and was like whoa, 'thats what i wanted to do with my hip-hop beats' but couldn't switch it. i downloaded my first dubstep mix on barefiles.com and decided i could do this.lol
58 and 59 were my first attempts at producing 'dubstep'
i've recently changed 59 a lil, hence the vip tag, the drums mostly. be warned though, this song is quite 'pop', well in my opinion that is, i was trying to copy/emulate the 'generic' sound of dubstep at that time.
they are called 58 and 59 because they were my 58th and 59th projects.
i thought it might be cool for newer producers to take a listen to these then listen to my more recent ones to see how sounds can change and develop over time.
i think i'm technically better now but felt i had more 'soul' a year ago
i'm just listening to 63, gonna add that aswell
presets and rinsed free sample packs galore!!!
also mixdown is shit cos i didn't have monitors back then
