is producing in a box helping to get more noticed?
first of all i personaly dont care if an artist makes a tune thats completely out of his or her terrain i accept it if i dont like it and i admire him or her if i love it
but that said i heard it several times now that producing in one genre helps to get more attention. but i really dont see the point if lets say yeah i dare to say it skrillex makes a song completely different to his normal music i only see people who hated him saying oh hes not that one sided at all or wow hes actually good (cause he is kinda good) and not his fans saying fuck him now i hate him
so my question is are people really that structured in their mindset to sort artist under genres and not see the humans behind the art ?

I think it depends more on the fans you attract in the first place and how big of general music fans they are, but I think its too big of a blanket statement to say yes or no.

Yes, Obi Wan.Attila wrote:I think it depends more on the fans you attract in the first place...
If you're talking about pop (for what pop is now), yes. Pop essentially means retarded.

There are some people who sound good/sound the same no what genre they produce and sometimes I like and sometimes I don't.
