Benga style

Any tips on how to sound like benga? I been doing my own thing now for a while and am going round in circles been listening to his tracks loving his rhythms and general sound

Copy his style of rhythms... then copy his style of synths... then copy his style of melodies/synth components.

I saw that masterclass a couple of years ago but dont really remember him giving away much, ye what i mean is the groove he gets with his drum track and basslines, they sound fairly simple but i just cant get that energy and jig into em

haha nah deadmau5 dead most presets for drums and songs pleasure used a plugin preset

Yeah one of those trancey leads from Pleasure is an Albino preset, I found it the other day and with some tweeking you get pretty much the exact same sound.

They both probably go for presets they like and work with them, tweeking here and there. I don't really see a problem with using a preset if it's the sound you are after, but learning to make your own for the most part is the best option especially if you are new to production.

Listen to his tracks on a good system and note his use of groove between the sub and percussion...so good
