Stranger - Untitled (Dark, Deep, Dungeon, Bass)

Post by ArrenMog » Sun Jul 29, 2012 7:36 pm

My latest tune, introduction is no where near complete just quickly put anything together and i've only got really the first half of the tune down but apart from that i'm pretty happy with it.

Soundcloud

I want to know whether any other dungeonish producers out there feel that any of these parts could do with tweaking or whether the techniques i've used to create these sounds are maybe not the best way to go about it and offer any pointers. I'm starting to think my tunes are sounding pretty good and well polished but i know there's stuff that's still lacking so any feedback is welcome :)

Cheers!

Intro is nice but goes on a bit too long. The main beat when it arrives isn't bad, some of the hits are a bit on the quiet side though. The bass noises likewise sound a bit flat, maybe layer them up for some added prescence.

Yeah man the intro is no where near being finsihed just something i quickly hashed together so i could get some feedback on the main bit of the tune.

which hits do you think are on the quite side? you mean the drums or like some of the synths?

and what should i layer my bass noises with?

Thanks for the feedback though!

I think you should have a deeper bass and turn up those dark wubs and I think it would turn up well.

Dude that was a great track! It really gave me that classic UK dubstep feel again. We should definitely collab, check out some of my work and hit me up if you want. :D

very nice and clean mix! love that snare mate that is seriously lush! also love the little melody its got very nice vibes!! the only thing I'd change is put that sub up and you got a massive banger!! :)

intro doesn't quite sit comfortably with me, little bit flat and lifeless.
The kick could do with some energy, sits a bit dull in the mix and could be brightened.
The sub pounds well but doesn't really vary enough to retain interest.
Think the synth has a tad too much reverb and sits too much on top of the mix.
Good feel to the track overall ad not bad production wise however, there are lots of things that can be cleaned up.

Cheers for the feedback man! i'll crank the sub up abit more, always find setting the sub level difficult haha glad you like it though man! :)

Yeah man the intro is a complete work in progress just quickly hashed one together so i could put it on here and get some feedback, i always have trouble bringing my kicks to life, could you suggest anything? like i never add reverb to them, might experiment adding some high passed reverb as i think thats why. i know what you mean about the sub n all, it is just one note haha i'll try adding maybe another section that does something abit more interesting with the sub, or at least mix up the like 100-200hz movement on top of the sub. i'll try making these changes thanks for the feedback though! :)
