This is my first track and I need some constructive criticism. This is my remix of Linkin Park's Numb.

Oh man thanks, How would I fix the vocals? It was really hard to line it up? Do you know of any good drum sample packs?wub wrote:That was pretty horrendous listening. Chester's vocal samples aren't lined up properly with the beat and sound massively off in places. Your main synth melody is paper thin (would suggest some layering to beef it up). Same for the drums, your kick/snare/percussion are very weak to the point of sounding a bit Casio keyboard. More layering would help here.
The midrange wobble bass is very generic sounding, lacks movement, and takes over the tune once it arrives.
This video might give you some idea;ThirdPersonNoise wrote: How would I fix the vocals? It was really hard to line it up?
I'd look at layering your samples as opposed to just going to a sample pack. That being said, these are all good and might be what you're after;ThirdPersonNoise wrote:Do you know of any good drum sample packs?
Pretty much for the reasons I've given above. However, this sort of music isn't really the style I'm into, so I've tried to remain as objective as possible in terms of the feedbackThirdPersonNoise wrote:thanks for the input by the way. Was it really horrendous though?
You are so awesome! Such a great help! How long have you been in this kind of stuff? Also stereo wise, how much should the main synth take up in the stereo field approximately?wub wrote:This video might give you some idea;ThirdPersonNoise wrote: How would I fix the vocals? It's for logic, but the same principle applies.

Thomas Penton - http://www.soundstosample.com/info/rv_s ... Series/343

If you go down the layering route, you're basically taking multiple drum samples (e.g. the kick) with different attributes. For example, if you had one with a lot of low end thud, you could layer it with one that a bit more mid range punch to create a Superkickā¢.
This technique is a lot of trial, error & EQing, but if you get the hang of it (and it is worth getting the hang of), then you can create your own sounds more easily with what you've got.
