Kidd Gimmick - Red Door (Dubstep/Dance/Experimental)

Been having a lot of issues with my sound. I can't tell if it is my room or my monitors, but my mixes do not seem to translate. I've been told to get a studio sub, great monitoring headphones, and great monitors by numerous people on different occasions. I am strapped on cash and I would like to fix the problems on the first or second attempt if at all possible. Can anyone lend my insight as to how to fix this. I need to know how to monitor my bass levels correctly, as well as getting my sounds to sit in their own space a little better. I monitor on Behringer Truth B2031a'a. Are these monitors crap, or is it my ears? Thanks :)

P.S. - I do not master ATM.

It's got a figure feel on the drops. I like it! I would work on some better builds and verses though. If you ever intend on playing this out people wont know what to do between the drops.

Alright man this is nice, the melodies and parts are nice, I like the vibe too, and structure, not the norm (experimental as you said). That said I'm not too sure on the middle section, the kick and snareless section, just wasn't expecting it maybe.

As for monitoring bass etc, something that helps me, with the mix n bass etc(i dnt have the best monitors) is to listen to it on other systems and compare. I also give it a few listens with spectrum on(ableton but I assume most DAW have something similar) so I can see the mix, and if any parts(sub, bass, hats) are too high.

Thank you. I did get that vibe. The more I listened, the more I found myself bored during the breaks. :H:

Thank you. I'm glad you pointed out the breaks, too. I think its harder to have a good drop without a good buildup. Good tips. I'm an ableton user, too. :)
