Basic headphone question

Thinking of getting some Chinese Beats for school. Before you say anything, I hate beats with a passion, but it's something I can get pretty cheap, looks somewhat decent, and won't bother me if gets stolen. Besides, I don't want to get my Audio Technica's jacked by some scrubby chucklefucks.
Are the Chinese products any good at all? Friend got a pair and said they're decent, but he's also a Skullcandy frequenter.

Shit I might. I was looking for ear buds though, mainly because I can't walk and brock out at the same time.

I highly recommend you to just get earphones man. I think people look like a right knobhead if they're wearing headphones outside.
I'm currently using these:

Yeah I feel heretical. Tbf though, I'd rather keep my Audio Technica's out of the hands of scrubs with sticky fingers.

That's what I was talking about, beats earbuds. Personally I can't wear headphones outside because it really disables my ability to know what's going on anywhere around me. Plus taking those things to school has led to 3 broken pairs thanks to my amazing organizational skills.

Do yourself a favor and don't get Beats earphones either. They're shite and majorly overpriced. You can get something much better for the same amount of money.

Yeah but I can get the Chinese versions that are just as good for $20.
I'm only looking to spend about $20 on these things because they'll be blown out within 5 weeks or so.

Yeah but you see, I don't understand why you would do that... Why don't you just for once pay a bit more for a pair of earphones that are actually decent and will last you a long time?
Why would you pay for something if you already know it'll become defective in 5 weeks.
I used to be the same a couple of years back. Always just bought crappy earphones because I didn't want to spend a lot of money on them, but because of that I had to get a new pair every 1 or 2 months or so. After a while I just got sick of it and decided to finally get some decent earphones and bought these Denons for about 170 euros. I've been taking them with me to school and work every single day for the past 3,5 - 4 years and they still work perfectly.
And not only that, the sound quality is absolutely superb as well.

Honestly it's because I'm hardly able to listen to music at school. I'm always talking to someone, reading, or asleep. Most I spent on earphones was $120, and they broke the day after warranty.

I'm about to buy these:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0015AFOR8
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004RKQM8I
The earbuds I've been using for over 3 years and they're the best earbuds I've ever worn in my entire life. Their design is absolutely flawless, in my personal opinion. Mine recently broke, however, so I'm getting a new pair. I feel absolutely lost without them.
And the headphones, they're neat, and pretty cheap, so I figured why not.
