wide drum hits(example inside)

I really like the way these hits are so wide yet keeping the punch of mono. Honestly through headphones I hear some stereo in the higher freqs especially on the snare. How the hell does this guy get his drums so "wide"? Is he just widening the higher freqs in his hits? Im a bit stumped here, please shed some knowledge :]

see how much drum hit hard an nice but arent "WIDE". WHAT IS GETTING THAT WIDTH

If the drums are mono they probably duplicated each hit and panned them half left/hard right and them compressed them together, then thrown into a bus where some stereo width/drum room reverb has been added.
I am on my laptop (without headphones) so I can't do detailed listening but honestly it just sounds like punchy hits.
