Help me find dubstep songs to listen to please.

Post by mulalleybs » Tue Aug 14, 2012 9:04 pm

Alright guys I was just hoping you could make some suggestions off of the songs I already know that I like. There are a lot of dubstep songs I've heard that I don't like and there are some absolutely sick ones (obviously all in my opinion) that I've found, but I figured you guys would be able to help me find them much faster rather than listening to a million different youtube videos. ..and I'm wanting to find a bunch of stuff to test out on the new home theater/stereo.

Some of the songs that I really like so far..

Nero - Angst I think the first time I heard this song I listened to it about a dozen times in a row
Chrispy - Predator ep is pretty badass
Chrispy - Inspector gadget is alright
Chrispy - Halloween is pretty cool too

I love to listen to metal and rap too so dubstep songs with a metal side would cool to hear.

Hearing some dubstep based off of the terminator, and resident evil songs would be pretty sweet too, but I haven't really found any.

I'd appreciate any help finding some songs though.

first of all, dubstep =/= dub. dub is a type of reggae from the 60s/70s made by people like Lee Perry and King Tubby.

secondly, i don't know any of those songs you mentioned there but if you're into metal and stuff you might like Distance and his label Chestplate, they make dubstep you could maybe say is influenced by that side of stuff.

First of all, and I'm not trying to be a dick here, I think you're on the wrong forum for this kind of stuff. This forum talks mostly about the more "deep" side of dubstep, not the type that Nero, Chrispy, Flux Pavilion, Skrillex, Excision and similar artists make.

Having said that, these are metal/rap influenced tracks you might like, both on the deeper side and on the aggressive side you're looking for.

Bare Noize - Prepare To Die
Stagga - Sick As Sin
Document One - Ace In The Pack
Distance - Traffic
Rob Zombie - Let it All Bleed Out (Document One remix)
SKism . Rave review (Dodge & Fuski remix)
Noisia - Machine Gun (16Bit remix)

Shhh. If you actually read what I stated, I said it was her friends that said that. ...And they are all art students so they are kind of weird anyway (not in a bad way), but I wouldn't call them idiots. :a:

Just started listening to Prepare To Die, I like it. Thanks.

Unfortunately the wifi in the hotel in at right now blows so listening to the songs is going really slow.

It's all good, they are the ones that introduced me to dubstep though. listened to a few other tracks from Bare Noize, really like them. Thanks for pointing me in that direction.

So just curious, how many of you guys make your own songs? I'd like to know how that process works just for curiosity sake.

Song:
a piece of music, usually employing a verbal text, composed for the voice, esp one intended for performance by a soloist
Dub:
Music in this genre consists predominantly of instrumental remixes of existing recordings and is achieved by significantly manipulating and reshaping the recordings, usually by removing the vocals from an existing music piece
...I'm bored.
