Software to create glitchy video synced to sound input

Hey all. This is kind of an odd question, but I had an idea after playing a show the other day. For years now, during my sets I setup a video projector to play videos behind me to add effect. I basically grabbed a bunch of short clips from various sci-fi, horror, or martial arts movies, and randomly mix them together in windows movie maker to create a glitchy looking video that looks kinda cool while I'm playing dubstep or dnb.
I'm wondering, is there some sort of software that would create this type of effect based on a live sound input? The idea being, say I'm playing a video clip, it would be rad if the video would glitch (i.e. stutter, repeat, static, distort) based on a live sound input from Ableton or some such. Does that make sense?
Here's an example that's close to what I'm thinking:
