Beaming Light Records from Estonia with their first digital release. BML001 was given away for free on SoundCloud (www.soundcloud.com/beaminglight) and BML002 is forthcoming. Although Beaming Light’s main mission is to push Estonian music, these pieces of music come from the Hungarian (Estonian-Hungarian Finno-Ugric connection) duo Mediahack (Display & Confused) who also run the legendary bass music night Dub Phase in Budapest. ‘Summer of Love’ is the more soulful and dubby bit on this single, soft pads, a pumping sublow bassline and lush melodies tease the listener until the sax kicks in. Makes you feel like sitting at a bonfire and having a good time.
‘Sanctuary’ is a grimier tune but the dub element is not lost. Moving percussions and a legendary vocal sample keep it moving until the end.
