Hertfordshire based d&b producer Skeptical’s been making waves in the scene for a little while now, with releases on some of the most acclaimed labels such as Exit, Ingredients, Dispatch, Renegade, Commercial Suicide and 31 Records. His tight, sparse sound hits hard with heavy basslines and rasping synths for steppy, dancefloor destroyers that are as much at home in your bedroom. Recently, his collab tune with Dubphizix and Strategy, Marka, has taken the world by storm, finding it’s way into every dj’s box and setting raves off nationwide.

With releases on Subtitles, Metalheadz and Critical over the last six months, Ulterior Motive have set the standard high and proved it's possible to make an impact in the drum & bass scene without being entirely prolific. In 2011 the duo continue to put quality first, with more releases on Subtitles and Critical plus a prestigious appearance on Reinforced and some high-profile remix work all on the way. Their own unique brand of high-tech basslines, neck-snapping beats and low-slung funk has earned them regular DJ support

Demonstrating attention to detail, quality control and a strong work ethic, the versatile producers have their sights firmly set on the top with remix work from leading dance and drum & bass labels in the pipeline

It all began in 1991 at a club night called Rage at Heaven. The rave scene had emerged from acid house and was building its own identity, with pioneer Djs such as Fabio and Grooverider mixing cutting edge sounds with vintage funk and reggae and playing tracks like Carl Craig’s seminal ‘Bugs In The Attic’ at 45rpm instead of 33. The vibe was explosive, the adrenalin was pumping.

One hundred releases is a major milestone for any imprint and Metalheadz are marking the occasion with a special single from label owner Goldie.
The single features just one track, Freedom ft. Natalie Duncan, a singer and musician Goldie mentored during the making of the BBC TV programme Goldie's Band - By Royal Appointment. Following the release of METH100 the Metalheadz catalogue will be renumbered.

Dom & Roland is drum and bass producer Dominic Angas. The addition of “Roland” in the artist name refers to his Roland sampler. He was a major proponent of the techstep style of drum and bass, and released mostly on Moving Shadow. His style is somewhat industrial, even for a techstep artist. Before venturing into creating music, Dominic was going to become an architect, and he has stated that whilst producing tracks he visualizes futuristic cities and buildings that he is creating. One of Dom’s claims to fame within drum and bass is being the inventor of the widely-used tramen break, during sessions as engineer for Trace.
