So I'm looking into getting some stands to bring my monitors up to height. But in true student fashion, I was wondering if anyone has found any novel ways to do so without spending the £100 or so that pretty much everyone is selling them for?

I understand why the benefit of these etc, but at the moment im just trying to save money.
Please share any ideas you have for this, and any other little tips about how to improve sound quality in a bedroom/desk setting.
