Been working on this over the last week and think my ears a playing tricks on me, what are your thoughts on this please?

Kick and snare are very weak and need something doing to them to get them to come through the mix. Either subtractive EQing to make a bit of space for them in the mix, or else layering to beef them up a bit.

ok thanks for that .... with subtractive equing do you mean find where the kick and snare peak and reduce the frequencies of the other elements of the mix in that range?
