Essential mixes to get

Post by Harkat » Thu Aug 30, 2012 7:04 pm

Hey all,

I'm relatively new to properly exploring deep dubstep. Sorry if this should be in an already-existing thread, but I'd like to know some of the essential mixes, from the genre's beginnings until now. Preferably those with a few dubplates in them.

Thanks!

What I did/do is go to google, type in dubstep website and start browsing all the sites out there. Most of them have download sections with artists who let you have their music for free. Everything from mixes to songs.

I also go on SoundCloud.com and check out all the stuff there. Tons of stuff for you to use to get some inspiration. A lot of them are unknown/small time guys who are learning like you.

Hatcha b2b Mala b2b Cyrus @ Kiss Fm
Excision - Dark Dubstep Mix 2006
2000F - King Of De Dubs IV 2009

Could find some more classics from my old computer.

All essential to me with varying sounds in all mixes.

I got confused and thought this was going to be about BBC Essential Mixes!

The Dubstep Allstars series is a great place to start. Showcases the evolution of the genre, and in later editions the varying strains of dubstep
