how do i fix that bad sound that comes up when i add a fat kick to the bass?
it sounds like it has too much low frequency in it, the resault is that in order to avoid this sound i have to put weak and not banging kick..

hope i got myself clear :) thanks.

p.s here's an example: http://www.fileflyer.com/view/iERiIA6

side chaining is your friend

The key is to compress the 2 instruments and filter the clashing frequencies out as well to make them "complete" each other.
Or you could also use sidechaining compression but that 1st solution should do the trick for now.

It's all explained in the production bible and other recent posts tho.

not a mastering question.

it's all about judicious eqing. sidechaining is cool... if you want the sound of sidechaining.

listen to tunes when you're out in the clubs and see where/how the kick, bass, and sub all work together. best way to learn about mixes.
