I generally don't stray far from lives reverb tbh, I just find it easy to useskwiggo wrote:lives reverb is actually quality for most types of electronic music IMO

reverbed kicks? what, like this?
edit: i've used adverb for that kind of sound. it creates a pretty wide stereo field so you'll have to keep that in mind and compensate, sounds ace tho

that's a classic right there. 909 drenched in reverb (i heard that this was recorded at a studio mainly used for classical music that had some crazy plate reverbs, but that's just hearsay afaik)glottis5 wrote:

You can if you want, but it leaves less room for other bass. In that kind of techno the bassline is usually made up from the kick and reverb anyway. If you find a good balance though you can have both, that's where the EQ and parallel processing can come in handy. Most of the techno has the reverb separate from the tracks I hear, otherwise the kick wouldn't have much impact.hasezwei wrote:why wouldnt you put reverb on the lowend of a kick if it sounds good?
nearly every techno tune released in the last 2 years is based solely on that technique (for better or worse)
