Hey dude, saw your comment on my soundcloud, cheers for the confidence booster ;D Anyway, I think you have some potential, you just need to working on your composing skills, some variation in the synth sounds in the drop could do you good. Try to get some other influences into your tunes, I'm loving Kill the Noise and Zomboy at the moment. You've got some good ideas in terms of making the track sound deep, and production is pretty tight, just needs some work in the drop. Dubstep should be HUGE man. I'd actually suggest getting NI's Razor (if you don't have it already), it's an awesome synth and would be great for what you're doing. All in all, you got the skills, you just gotta apply them a little better I think. Keep it up!

hey man thanks for the feed back......Do you happen to know a good tutorial series for making lead synths and for mixdowns. Also any tips for giving a track more energy.

Just youtube it! Seriously dude, good synth patches come from knowledge of the particular synth you're working with. I know Massive inside out, I know how to use FM synthesis to get basically any lead I want, and I have a good knowledge of re-synthesis. Also look up layering on youtube, it's one of the best and easiest ways to make your tracks sound ballsy. 'Energy' I think is a writing issue, but mostly I think it is just working with all the not so prominent features of your track. I talking about stuff like extra percussive elements, synth stabs and one shots. There's more but I think you get the point. I'm not that great at mixdowns, but most of what I know comes from reading and not youtube vids. I think it's best to google 'dubstep mixdown/mastering' and take in as much info a you can.Sounds tedious doesn't it? =P

yea its tedious but you gotta put in the time. Im subscribed to various channels on youtube, and i got this book called the "The mixing Engineers Handbook" and i just DL a few PDfs the other day. One in particular called "Becoming a Synth Wizard" it suppose to be really good, but anyway I always fish for new sources of info.
