[NOOB QUESTION]

Hey, I've been thinking for a while, would KRK RP5G2 5" monitors be a good buy? and is it reccomended to "break the woofer in"?
I've been thinking KRK RP5G2's cos i dont really have a big room and i dont want the acoustics of the room to stuff up what im hearing.
Is there better deals going around for studio monitors? I'm from Australia just so you know.

I'd say save ya money and wait till ya can afford something half decent. That's what I did and although it was stressfull for a while I'm so glad that I did it now. The people that I know that have bought rokits constantly justify their good points such as the small room acoustic stuff etc. In reality if you listen to multiple monitors you'll realise they are nothing more than a glorified hi fi speaker. I did almost buy some as the constant good reviews in sound on sound were believable but after listening and mixing on other monitors etc i haven't believed a sound on sound review since lol.

Sorry for the rant but yea there's better options for cheap monitors. The fact is that if/when you get better monitors further down the line you will only throw them away so why not buy some that you will keep forever.

If your adamant about 5" then I'd go with Adam a5's

After a little think about it all and speaking with RandoRando, I've been thinking of buying Audio Technica's (the studio headphones) still unsure but yeah. Thanks for the replies, it helped alot.

If you thinking of headphones then imo Beyerdynamics DT990 pro are the ones to get.

KRK, Mackie, Yamaha, Genelecs etc. There all nice but best advise is to go to your nearby Hardware store that sells Monitor speakers. Bring along an CD / mp3 of your tasted / your own work and check them out one by one that comes close to your budget.
The reason I say this is because every human ear is diverend. People can always say that for example: "the KRK Rokit 5 G2 is the ultimate bomb among monitors" but in your ears it can sounds awfull etc.
Try them out put your ears to the test and when you feel an eargasm...thats the one you want

P.S.
Another thing to keep in mind:
Keep in mind how big your studio room is. If you buy for example KRK Rokit 8's and you have a very small studio you can lose your way in the sound dimension. In this example (and my experience) there can be too much bass and you will not notice Mid and High sounds as it should be.
