formant filters

Post by grimsin » Fri Sep 14, 2012 6:17 am

Can someone recommend a good formant filter? besides the wow one by sugar bites...i know its probably the best for vowel sounds but its out of my price range....just throw some random ones at me. Some good ones... I have used the fruity love filter but i can't get it to do what i want :(

Like Hircine said, use the EQ!

Are you using Ableton? If so the EQ8 has presets for all the different vowel sounds.

If not there's a good youtube vid on them so you could just copy the settings onto your own EQ plugin - doesn't get much cheaper and effective than that!

Then just automate each band to move as you want.

Couple with some automated filter's with a lot of resonance and you can get some good results (not just for growls!).
Juicy EP out on Adapted Records ;)
